Shadow Insurance Original & Candlelight

Shadow Insurance Original & Candlelight

If there’s one thing I learned from reading beauty blogs, it’s to always use a base underneath your eyeshadow. What a big difference does that make! My favorite eye shadow primer is Shadow Insurance from Too Faced. My first one lasted for a couple of years, but it was time to order a new tube. Well I ended up ordering two versions, the Original and Candlelight.

Shadow Insurance Original & Candlelight

For those of you who are unfamiliar with eyeshadow primers, buy one tomorrow! It’s a creamy product you use all over your lid before applying eyeshadow. It will create a smooth surface and will keep your eye shadow in place. If you have a good primer, the difference is huge!

Shadow Insurance Original & Candlelight

This is the Original Shadow Insurance from Too Faced. It’s a small tube (11g/0,35Oz) but you only need a tiny bit so it will last a while. The substance is creamy and has is skin colored. It gives a bit of coverage, smoothing out irregularities. You can use it underneath both cream and powder shadows.

The newest addition to my stash is the Shadow Insurance called Candlelight. Like the Original this is a great primer (11g/0,35Oz), but with something extra. According to Too Faced it has a soft illuminating effect. I have been using it for a couple of days now and I must say it works great. It’s really shimmery, meaning you’ll have to be a bit more careful when you’re applying this. But! It makes your eyeshadows look great and more intense. It might be my new favorite primer!

On these pictures you can see both primers. On top you see the skin colored Original Shadow Insurance and below the more yellow and shimmery Candlelight version.

This is Candlelight combined with a mat eyeshadow. Without the primer the pigmentation looks pretty bad, but on top of the shimmery base the color looks so different!

I bought these two tubes (and one extra Original for my mother) at BeautyBridge for $20,00 per item. If you’re ordering for more than $50,00 you can use the code 5off50 to get a $5,00 discount.
